Oak Park Marijuana Dispensary Eyes 2016 Opening

Seven Point will host a medical cannabis education and registration event Nov. 11.

Construction has begun at 1140 Lake St., where the medical marijuana dispensary planned in Oak Park will likely open its doors sometime in 2016.

Seven Point Medical Cannabis Dispensary is slated to serve Oak Park, Berwyn, Cicero River Forest and Riverside, which belong to district 36.

Brad Zerman, owner of Seven Point, told the Chicago Tribune he’s trying to open doors as soon as he can once construction is finished.

He said he wished he could have participated in the first wave of opening dispensaries after cultivators were given the green light last week to send marijuana to retailers.

Seven Point will host a medical cannabis education and registration event at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Oak Park Library, 834 Lake Street. Those hoping to apply should bring state identification, proof of residence, a passport photo and a credit card for the fingerprinting fee and state application fee.
