Pedestrian Killed by Metra Train in Berwyn
The pedestrian was struck around 7:45 a.m. near Grove and Stanley.

Inbound and outbound BNSF Metra trains may be running with extensive delays Thursday after a person was hit and killed by a train in Berwyn.
The pedestrian was struck around 7:45 a.m. Thursday near Grove and Stanley, according to a Metra spokesperson.
There were no passengers on the westbound Metra train, which was carrying equipment.

Train traffic was stopped for about two hours after the incident, as local police and members of the Cook County coroner’s office investigated the death.
As of 11 a.m., only two of the three BNSF tracks were open.
