Tommy Schaefer's Cousin Pleads Not Guilty of Conspiracy in Bali Murder Plot
Prosecutors believe Robert Bibbs advised Heather Mack and Tommy Schaefer on how to kill Sheila von Wiese-Mack
Robert Ryan Justin Bibbs, 24, of Chicago, pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges that he conspired with his cousin, Tommy Schaefer, and Heather Mack to kill Sheila von Wiese-Mack in Bali, the Chicago Tribune reported.
Schaefer and Mack were convicted in April of premeditated murder for the death of von Wiese-Mack, whose body was found in Aug. 2014, stuffed in a suitcase outside a Bali resort.
Bibbs was arrested Sept. 23 by federal authorities. Prosecutors say Bibbs knew about Schaefer and Mack’s plan to kill von Wiese-Mack, and a criminal complaint alleges he advised them how to kill her and avoid law enforcement.

The complaint states Bibbs believed Mack would inherit her mother’s money, and Schaefer would share the inheritance with Bibbs.
Bibbs was released to home confinement Sept. 25. He wore a black sweater with a picture of Nelson Mandela on it Thursday for the arraignment before U.S. Magistrate Judge Maria Valdez, the Tribune reported.
