Boulder Hill Elementary Students Put on Wax Museum

Students researched a person from history and then presented on him or her in their wax museum.

Information and photos provided by Boulder Hill teacher Anne Garrabrant:

Second graders of Boulder Hill Elementary made history back in March.

In class they studied biographies and why they are important. After learning about a few famous people as a class, each second grader was allowed to choose a person that he/she was interested in learning more about.

To prepare for what would be an exhilarating event, students researched their particular person. Through their research they were asked to highlight the following facts about their person; when they were born, a fact from their childhood, the reason they were famous or important and where they are now.

The cafeteria was then transformed into the Boulder Hill Wax Museum.  Second graders were scattered around the cafeteria dressed like various famous people and presented the findings from their research.

Like a true wax museum, the second graders stood like statues until a museum visitor “pushed their button”, the second graders then came to life to present their findings, returning to statues when they were done.

Parents and families enjoyed the museum listening to second grade versions of: George Washington, Kobe Bryant, Amelia Earhart, Helen Keller, Neil Armstrong, Barack Obama and many more!
