Driver In 3-Car Hit-And-Run Is Caught, Cited: Oswego Police

The Aurora driver fled the scene but was located shortly after and taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries, police said.

OSWEGO, IL — The driver who fled the scene after a three-car crash Monday in Oswego was arrested and cited for leaving the scene of an accident, police said.

The crash happened around 11:58 a.m. at the intersection of Route 34 and Heritage Drive, officials reported in Tuesday's blotter.

The at-fault driver, a 54-year-old woman from Aurora, was driving a Toyota eastbound on Route 34, approaching Heritage Drive, when police said she was unable to stop before rear-ending a Hyundai driven by an Oswego woman, 57.

The Hyundai then struck the rear of a Jeep, driven by a 55-year-old Newark woman.

Police said the 54-year-old woman left the scene but was located shortly after and taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries.
