LeClercq Retains Village President Post in Convincing Fashion; District 308 Sent Resounding Message
District 308 School Board will have three new members; all oppose construction of third high school.
Oswego Village President will lead the village for another four years after beating challengers and in Tuesday's consolidated election.
"I'm pleased with the results, and I'm really blessed to have the kind of support that I got," LeClercq said.

Sollinger, who watched vote totals at Tuesday night, said she was disappointed in the outcome. However, she said working with LeClercq in the future will not be difficult given the rather positive tone of their campaign.
"We'll still work together. The relationship will be a little strained for a while, but it will be good," she said. "I can work with almost anyone."

Sollinger will serve out the remaining two years of her Village Trustee term.
Village BoardSollinger will be joined on the board by at least one new face, . Johnson gathered the most votes of any candidate for trustee with 1,961.
"Today is the day we celebrate the people who worked to get me on the board," Johnson said. "Tomorrow we start to work really hard."
Incumbent will keep his seat on the board with 1,693 votes. The third spot on the board may still be up for grabs, as just 17 votes separate incumbent (1,528) and challenger (1,511).
Mancke said Tuesday night she's not ready to concede the election and will likely wait for any absentee ballots to be counted before doing so.
"I will wait until everything is counted and everything is verified," she said.
Johnson replaces incumbent who received 1,261 votes. received 861 votes, 263 and 1,289.
Oswego Community Unit School District 308Voters sent a strong message to District 308, and that message was for the administration to stop the planning for the construction of a third high school. Challengers (2,565 votes), (2,727) and (2,223), who all ran with a message of halting the school's construction, all easily won seats on the board.
The next closest vote-getter was with 1,920. Former board member received 1,729, incumbent received 1,644 and fellow incumbent got 1,539. rounded out the field of candidates still in the race with 866. , who dropped out of the race last week, received 859.
Lightfoot said he and his fellow electees expect to keep their promise to stop the planning and construction of a third high school in Plainfield.
"We've got some tough decision, but I think we need to move forward with what we told voters we were going to do and that's to stop the third high school."
Oswegoland Park DistrictThe Oswegoland Park District Board will also include two new faces. (2,354 votes) beat out incumbent (1,924) for a two-year term on the board, and (2,200) gained just enough votes to unseat (2,128).
Wass and White ran on a platform of fiscal responsibility promising to reign in spending at the park district.
Long-time board member will retain his seat and garnered the most votes in the race with 2,657. Challenger rounded out the field with 1,745 votes.
The wave of anti-tax sentiment also carried over into the referendum that would have allowed Oswego Township to levy a special tax increase to help fund senior services throughout the township. Votes against the ballot measure (3,110) nearly doubled those in support (1,717).
