Letter to the Editor: 'Big Lar' Plans to Ask Candidates the Tough Questions
Send your letter to the editor to steven.jack@patch.com

Oswego voters, what do you think?
1) When it comes to balancing the Oswego budget, as a taxpayer, would you prefer raising taxes or cutting spending?
2) Would you loan $12 million to a developer who has properties in foreclosure?
3) Would you vote for a candidate who is backed by the developer seeking the $12 million, with you, the Oswego taxpayer, guaranteeing the loan?
4) Would you support a candidate that would bring in new business via tax incentives, that would allow them to unfairly compete against existing businesses in Oswego?
I've asked these questions and more of our candidates for village president and that's why I am supporting Brian LeClercq. Don't take my word for it. I'm giving you the opportunity to ask the serious questions. Are you voting on platitudes, such as "business friendly," or answers to the tough questions facing Oswego?
You just might be surprised with their responses. One of the candidates told me that the voters don't pay attention to the issues, they just want to like you. Generally speaking, the candidates are on opposite sides of these questions and sometrustee candidates are 'waffling' on them.
Attending many local forums over the years, I'm confident that the local forums will not ask the tough questions, won't let the voters to ask their questions, nor allow for a follow up.
This is why I'm announcing my Candidate Forum and inviting all Oswego Voters, regardless of party or political philosophy, to attend Big Lar's Candidate Forum for the Voters at the American Legion Hall, 19 W. Washington St. downtown, 6:30 sharp on Thursday, March 24.
All Village President and Trustee candidates are invited. Stay tuned for next weeks final segment of questions.
Larry Motykowski, Republican Precinct Committeeman Oswego 28
