Schlaker, Mancke care deeply about community
Our Village needs smart, dedicated professionals to make the tough decisions needed to improve our quality of life. This election for Village Trustees is vital to the growth and well-being of our community.
Having known both for some time, I can attest to the integrity and high standards of both Amanda Mancke and David Schlaker. Mancke has strong leadership skills
I have known Amanda Mancke and her family for over 15 years and will cast my vote for her as a Village Trustee on April 5th. This is a critical election for our Village, and I am thankful to have a candidate that possesses strong leadership and team building skills.
For too long I have watched the controlling majority of our Board create an anti-business climate in our Village. In a time when we must seekout ways to increase our tax base, this Board has dragged out the review process on many proposed projects, and terminated the TIF review process that halted further improvements to our downtown.
How can we sit by and allow this to continue in this economic downturn? True leaders such as Amanda will find ways to work with new businesses to promote the best interests of the Village and our residents.
The controlling majority likes to say that they received a “mandate” from the residents during the 2009 election to return Oswego to a “fiscally responsible community." Did they truly receive a mandate when only 8 percent of registered voters actually voted?
We must do better than 8 percent on Election Day. We must demonstrate that we are tired of watching our town stagnate at the hands of a select few. We must go to the polls and vote for smart, controlled growth that will allow Oswego to thrive. On April 5th, we must vote for Amanda Mancke and positive, forward-thinking leadership. Let THIS be our mandate.

Mancke has vision to drive community forward
In the upcoming elections, I will be voting for change.
I will be voting for Amanda Mancke. I have known Amanda for several years and she has the qualities a Village Trustee should have. She is upfront and honest and truly cares about the future of Oswego.
She has compassion, respect, and a sense of responsibility to our community. Amanda is aware of the current state of our economy, but she has a vision and the drive to move Oswego forward.
Amanda and her family are very active in the community through school, sports, and civic organizations. They attend many community events and are truly invested in our town. The biggest problem currently facing our town is rising taxes.
There is a prevalent thought that we are keeping taxes down by controlling development. How does keeping new business and the accompanying sales tax out of our town lower our taxes?
Amanda will work to responsibly streamline the process of bringing new business to the Village so that we are competitive with surrounding towns. This will create win-win situations for the Village, the business, and most importantly, the residents of Oswego.
