Lucy Ann Pranga, 89, Worked at Tillers Nursing Home

Visitation for Lucy Ann Pranga will be held on Sunday, Sept. 8 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and a funeral service will be held on Monday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m.

Lucy Ann Pranga, age 89 of Oswego, IL died Thursday, September 05, 2013, at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich, IL.  She was born May 27, 1924 in DeKalb, IL to the late Benjamin A. and Bertha R. nee Hogan McNeely. She was united in marriage to the late Casimir Pranga on October 27, 1950.

She was a member of the Oswego Presbyterian Church, for over 53 years where she was involved in various church groups including Martha Circle. 

Lucy worked at Farmers Insurance Company before becoming a CNA for Tillers Nursing Home in Oswego where she worked for over 20 years. While a longtime resident of Oswego she enjoyed farming with her husband cooking, canning, and spending time with her grandchildren.

In her younger years she was an avid bowler who participated in many different bowling leagues. Later in life she enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with friends at the Beecher Center in Yorkville and Bickford in Oswego. 

She is survived by her children, Bill (Martha) Pranga of Jefferson, WI, Ann (Howard) Reiswig of Oswego, IL, Mark (Robin) Pranga of O’Fallon, MO, Jerry (Lynn) Pranga of St. Charles, IL, Rene (Ross) Garren of Plano, IL, Dale Pranga of Yorkville, IL; 18 grandchildren, Janean Ranis, David, Brad, and Jeff Pranga; Marcy Nelson and Eric Reiswig; Stephen Jr., Jonathan, and Misty Pranga; Stephanie Shallcross, Melanie Scott, and Kelly Pranga; Jeremy Pranga and Katherine McFarlane; Meredith and Hillary Garren; Colton and Chase Pranga; 25 great-grandchildren; Sister Nancy Jackson of DeKalb, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son Stephen Pranga and sisters; Rose Meachum, June Capehart, Alyce Sorenson, Cora Davis and Louise Mary McNeely. 

Visitation will be Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Oswego Presbyterian Church, 1976 Route 25, Oswego, IL 60543.  Funeral Service will be Monday, September 9, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the church with burial to follow at Pearce Cemetery, Oswego.  

Memorials may be directed to the Oswego Presbyterian Church.
