O'Reilly Auto Parts Robbed At Gunpoint: Oswego Police

The man walked into the store, displayed a gun and stole an undisclosed amount of currency, Oswego police said.

OSWEGO, IL — A man robbed O’Reilly Auto Parts at gunpoint Monday night, according to Oswego police.

Officers were dispatched at 8:44 p.m. to the store at 4092 Route 71 for a report of an armed robbery that had occurred. Two employees reported that a man walked into the store, displayed a gun and stole an undisclosed amount of currency, officials said.

The man left the store and was last seen heading eastbound on Route 71 on foot. Police searched the vicinity and questioned one man who matched the description but determined he was not the suspect, according to the news release.

Officers also canvassed the area last night and are continuing the search at nearby businesses Tuesday morning.

The suspect was described as a white man between the ages of 18 and 24 and about 5-foot-8 with a thin build and blond or red eyebrows, police said. He was wearing a black ski mask, black winter coat, black pants and sunglasses.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact detectives at 630-551-7300. Tips can be reported anonymously to Kendall Crime Stoppers at 630-553-5999, where information leading to arrests can result in a cash reward of up to $1,000.
