The wait is almost over for both bridges in Oswego to open.

The bridges, although structurally sound, were damaged in the April flooding and required repairs before they could be opened to traffic.

Two weeks ago the Village said they had awarded a contract to D Construction for a total of $113,931 to repair both bridges.

The construction company got right to work and Wolf Road bridge set to open possibly as early as Wednesday morning.

"The only thing left is a blacktop patch on the westbound lane," said Public Works director Jerry Weaver.

Weather permitting, the crews may be out Wednesday morning and have the barricades removed by early afternoon.

New village engineer, Dave Van Camp, said for sure the Wolf Road bridge would be open by the end of this week.

Adams Street bridge had a bridge deck overlay poured this morning and will take about four days to cure, said Van Camp. After that it will receive blacktop and is expected to open early next week.

The goal had been to open both bridges before Oswego's PrairieFest, slated for Father's day weekend, which looks like it will be accomplished.
