Single-Car Crash Closes Douglas Road Intersection: Oswego Police

The traffic lights at Route 34 and Douglas Road will be nonfunctional for another 8-10 hours due to car crash from Thursday morning.

OSWEGO, IL — The traffic lights at Route 34 and Douglas Road will be nonfunctional for another 8-10 hours due to damage from a single-car crash Thursday morning, police said.

One driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after the crash that occurred around 11:30 a.m.

Douglas Road at Route 34 was closed until about 1:05 p.m., according to police.

As of about 3:30 p.m., Meade Electric was on the scene working to restore the signals. Police deployed lighting towers at the intersection since the stoplight flashers were also not operating.

“For your safety, please drive with caution and consider avoiding the area if possible,” officials said.
