Veteran's Day In Oswego: Ceremony To Feature Firing Party, Bagpipes

The Rotary Club of Oswego is also helping veterans in need by collecting items from clothing to household supplies.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego will come together Saturday morning to honor veterans with a 15-minute ceremony at the Oswego Veterans Memorial.

The Oswego American Legion, Oswego Fire Protection District and Oswego Police Department will host the event featuring a posting of colors, a bagpipes performance and a firing party.

The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. on Veteran's Day at the memorial, located at 1 Main St.

In light of Veteran's Day, efforts are also being made by the Rotary Club of Oswego to support veterans in need. The club is collecting items from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Rotary Gazebo at Village Hall.

  • Liquid floor cleaner
  • Kleenex
  • Chapstick
  • Bathroom cleaner
  • Garbage cans (kitchen and bathroom)
  • Trash bags
  • Ziplock bags
  • Paper towels
  • Toilet paper
  • Plastic wrap
