Viewfinder: A Walk in the Park

Not quite in full bloom yet, Waa Kee Sha Park still one of our natural wonders.

A child too sick to be in school, but not sick enough to watch cartoons all day and a sunny afternoon was all it took to get me out Wednesday for a short hike through  Park just past Oswego's far southwestern border.

Though I expected to see plenty of wildlife, a couple of ducks, a few tiny frogs and a wasp were the only residents we encountered. The wooded trail that winds through the park is perfect for all kids, especially little ones who may not have lots of stamina but plenty of curiosity. Take the time in the next few weeks to visit this hidden gem, and take your camera. It won't be long before the forest's wild flowers will be in full bloom.
