Online Date Ends Badly When Man’s Wallet, Phone, Link Card Are Stolen

PALOS HILLS, IL — Officers met with a man who had walked into the Palos Hills police station on Jan. 12 to report a theft.

The man told police he met a woman online and they arranged a meetup. He picked her up in the 7200 block of Southwest Highway. After their night together ended, she had him drive her to a gas station in the 7700 block of Southwest Highway, reports said.

The man fell asleep and when the man woke up, the woman was gone and so were his wallet, cash, Link card, bank card and cell phone.
