Unattended, Running Car Stolen In Palos Hills, Blue Island Man Charged
The man left his car running unattended and unlocked while he ran back to his apartment. When he returned, the was gone, police said.

PALOS HILLS, IL — Someone stole a vehicle was that was left unattended while it was running and unlocked from a community lot on Jan. 20, according to Palos Hills police reports. .
The owner of the vehicle, a man in his 20s, said he had started his 2011 Kia Sorento to warm it while he ran back into his apartment in the 8500 block of West 103rd Street. Officers sad the vehicle was unlocked, and the keys were in the ignition.
When the man returned to his car, it was gone. The next day, Jan. 21, the Kia was found abandoned in Calumet City.

Palos Hills police obtained video footage and were able to identify a suspect, Anthony M. Somenzi, 37. Somenzi was arrested Jan. 26 in Blue Island and charged with motor vehicle theft and other traffic offenses, reports said.
