Stormwater Utility Dollars Put To Work On Brooks Lane

Lane closure and detours are ahead for subdivision facing drainage issues.

September 8, 2020

Motorists could face a few setbacks the week of Labor Day as a Peoria Public Works Department crew tackles a culvert repair at the residential intersection of West Ronlynn Place and North Brooks Lane. A 50 to 60-foot long corrugated pipe is rusted out and has disintegrated underneath the asphalt road. The damaged pipe is now crushed at both ends which has created drainage issues for neighboring property owners.

The work to repair the line is set to start Tuesday, September 8, and requires a complete road closure with detours. Traffic for West Ronlynn Place will be directed down North Knott Lane. The project should wrap up by the end of the workday on Friday. The replacement is considered routine maintenance and should not be a challenge for the crew.
