45 Seat Belt Citations Among Tickets Issued During Halloween Enforcement: Plainfield PD

Police also made two arrests during the nearly two-week-long enforcement effort.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield police issued a total of 48 citations during the most recent enforcement campaign, officials said Friday.

The Plainfield Police Department joined the Illinois Department of Transportation and other law enforcement agencies for the Halloween campaign that ran from Oct. 24 through Nov. 3.

During that time, Plainfield officers wrote 45 citations for improper seat belt use, two for expired registration and one for cell phone use. Officers also made two arrests for no driver's licenses, according to a news release.

The department participated in the effort "to save lives by removing impaired drivers from the roadways and ensuring more drivers and passengers were properly buckled up," the release said.

The enforcement was paid for using federal highway safety funds administered by IDOT.
