Plainfield native graduates summa cum laude from Weber State University
Alaina Wildenradt, a 2020 graduate of Joliet Catholic Academy and Plainfield native, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Weber State University in December 2024 with a major in Exercise Science. Alaina was Academic All-big Sky conference four straight years while playing soccer (he was captain senior year) for Weber State University.

Local student makes dean’s list at Shenandoah University

Blake Barnickel, of Plainfield, is one of 1,131 students who earned a spot on the Dean's List at Shenandoah University for the Fall 2024 semester.
To qualify for the Dean's List, students must be enrolled full-time in baccalaureate degree programs and earn a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher. Dean's List students who achieve a semester GPA of 3.90 or higher also qualify for the university's President's List.

Western Carolina University chancellor’s list names Plainfield students
Western Carolina University congratulates more than 2,000 students named to the Chancellor's List for Fall 2024. To qualify for this honor, students must achieve a GPA of 3.8 or higher while completing 12 or more credit hours. Students named to the Chancellor's list are also named to the Dean's List.

Evelyn Brunsting, of Plainfield, IL 60586 has been named to the Fall 2024 Dean's List at Roger Williams University, in Bristol, R.I. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a grade point average of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.

Matthew Dudley of Plainfield and Cedarville's Cyber Team Dominate National Contests
Cedarville University's cyber operations program, the highest-ranked program in the nation according to Intelligent.com, proved its worth by winning Liberty University's Cyber Summit Capture the Flag competition in November and finishing third at the prestigious VIVID Coalition event in Augusta, Georgia.
Cedarville claimed the $3,000 prize at the Liberty event on Nov. 2, 2024. The team of Yellow Jackets outscored teams from Messiah University and Montreat College. On November 14, the cybersecurity team placed third in the VIVID competition that was held near the U.S. Army Cyber Command. The event is the highest-level competition for schools designated as National Centers of Academic Excellence by the National Security Agency (NSA).
"Teamwork was the key to our success," said Matthew Dudley, a sophomore cyber operations major from Plainfield, Illinois. "One of the toughest scenarios involved finding hidden files and keys on a windows machine, which required us to collaborate and divide tasks based on expertise. We had to rely on one another to get through each challenge."

University of Mississippi Announces Fall 2024 Dean's Honor Roll
The University of Mississippi announced students named to the Fall 2024 Honor Roll lists. The following local students were named to the Dean's Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.50-3.74:
- Anna Cousins, of Plainfield, in the B.S. in Integrated Mktg. Communications program.
- Katherine Otto, of Plainfield, in the B.A.Ed. in Elementary Education program.
To be eligible for honor roll designation, a student must have completed at least 12 graded hours for the semester and may not be on academic probation during the semester.

University of Mississippi Announces Fall 2024 Dean's Chancellor’s Roll
The University of Mississippi announced students named to the Fall 2024 Honor Roll lists. The following local students were named to the Chancellor's Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.75-4.00:
- Michael Carlson, of Plainfield, in the B.S. in Biological Science program.
- Audrey Howard, of Plainfield, in the B.S. in Communication Sciences & Disorders program.
- Cailyn Miller, of Plainfield, in the B.S. in Integrated Mktg. Communications program.
- Aaron Wyckoff, of Plainfield, in the B.B.A. in Finance program.
"The remarkable students achieving Chancellor's Honor Roll are among the best and brightest at the University of Mississippi," Chancellor Glenn Boyce said. "I commend them for their hard work and dedication resulting in their outstanding academic achievements and this well-deserved recognition."
