David Eugene Goodale, age 82, a longtime Morris, Illinois resident, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

David was born in Princeton, IL on June 22, 1943, a son of the late Nina Mae (Fredrickson) and Lawrence Loren Goodale.
On May 27, 1978, David married Kathy (Goins) Goodale at First United Methodist Church in Morris.

In addition to his beloved wife of 47 years, He is also survived by his daughters and sons, Tracy (David) O'Dell, David L. (Bosa) Goodale, Jennifer (Ken) Otto, Trent (Janel) Goodale, Marissa Darlington and Ryan (Katie) Goodale; grandchildren, Jenna (Kyle) Boyd, Alec (Sarah) O'Dell and Kylie (Alex) Witkowski; Michael (Alexis) Goodale, Victoria (James) Hinkleman, and Hailee (Jacob) Prieto; Brianna, Grace and Olivia Otto; Trent, Erah and Phillip Goodale; Drew, Kyle and Luke Darlington; Adeline, Theo and Eloise Goodale as well as ten great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother, Larry (Janice) Goodale; his in-laws, Marcia (Ron) Spurgeon, Robert (Eileen) Goins and Ralph (Lynn) Goins; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sandra and her husband Don Mason, and sister-in-law, Sue Goodale.
David began his long-time career in the aluminum business at Alumax in Morris in 1970 and continued working for various plants as a supervisor, retiring from Nichols Aluminum in Lincolnshire in 2007.
After retirement, he transported many area residents to and from appointments in the Morris Hospital Bus from 2010-2020, logging over 1,000 hours, enjoying every minute of it! He also volunteered at the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1024 where he was a longtime member.
David started a hobby in woodworking and turning on the lathe. He enjoyed making pens, letter openers, wine stoppers, and other various wood-creations giving them away to family and friends.
David and Kathy enjoyed traveling and were able to see 46 of the 50 states together. In the past few years, they spent the winters in Bonita Springs, Florida at their Lime Tree Park community where David loved playing cards with new friends. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time and celebrating milestones with his loving family and friends.
Visitation for David Goodale will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 1 - 4 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive in Morris, IL. Funeral Services will take place at the First United Methodist Church, 118 W. Jackson Street in Morris where visitation will resume Monday, December 22, 2025, from 10 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m. As it was David's wish, cremation rites will follow services and his final earthly remains will be interred in Oak Grove Cemetery in Bristol, IL at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in David's name to First United Methodist Church.
