The new locations will mark Jack in the Box's return to the city for the first time in four decades, according to the company.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Jack in the Box has its eyes on an opening date for as many as 10 new Illinois restaurants, but it's not clear yet if a planned Plainfield location is on that list.
According to a report from NBC5 Chicago, the company's "strategic expansion into Chicago" includes planned locations in Plainfield, Countryside, Tinley Park, New Lenox, Naperville, Carol Stream Lake in the Hills and Chicago over the next two years.
Mayor John Argoudelis told Patch he was unaware of official plans for the Plainfield location and couldn't speak to a possible opening date.
