EEH accepting proposals for awards from Community Investment Fund
The Edward-Elmhurst Health Community Investment Fund will allocate up to $5 million to community organizations in 2023.
Edward-Elmhurst Health (EEH) is accepting applications from not-for-profit and nonprofit charitable organizations for monetary awards from its Community Investment Fund. The Fund helps EEH deliver on its mission to help everyone in its communities be their best by contributing to programs that provide new or expanded benefit and align with EEH’s 2023 priorities:
Community Health and Wellbeing
- Access to healthcare by underserved populations
- Prevention and management of chronic conditions
- Advancing health equity
- Addressing social determinants of health
- Behavioral health care and substance use disorders treatment
- Health literacy
- Prevention of violence, including gun violence

- Expanding supply chain diversity
- Education, job creation and career development, with a particular focus on further developing and promoting diversity and equity in the healthcare workforce
The EEH Community Investment Fund will allocate up to $5 million to community organizations in 2023. Proposals for EEH’s 2023 funding cycle will be accepted online until April 15. In 2022, EEH distributed nearly $4 million from its Community Investment Fund to 14 organizations throughout Cook, DuPage and Will Counties.

NorthShore University HealthSystem, including Swedish Hospital and Northwest Community Healthcare, recently announced the distribution of $4 million to 15 organizations in Lake and Cook Counties through its Community Investment Fund (CIF).
As part of their merger, NorthShore and Edward-Elmhurst Health each committed an initial combined $200 million to establish CIFs designed to support organizations committed to enhancing community health and well-being, advancing health equity and contributing to local economic growth. To date, these funds combined have provided more than $14 million to local organizations.
