PLAINFIELD, IL — Amy Miller, a kindergarten teacher at River View Elementary School, always wanted to write a children's book, but the time never seemed right. Until now.

"Go Be Amazing" is the title of the book that made Miller a newly minted author. Published on Feb. 3, the book features colorful illustrations that highlight children's abilities in various situations, from playing sports to making music and helping around the house.

It's a phrase she used to tell her kids before dropping them off at school and one she began telling her students, too.

“It is a phrase that has stuck with them and I just wanted to bring what it could mean to them to life," Miller said, per a news release from Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202. She added: "I was up one night thinking, and it just started coming to me, and I thought, 'I'm going to put it down on paper.'"

The theme of "Go Be Amazing" is that you can be the best version of everything you do, according to Miller.
