Linda L. Zary, 84, Lifelong Resident of Plainfield

Linda L. Zary, age 84, a lifelong resident of Plainfield, IL, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025. She was born on August 24, 1941 in Joliet, IL.

Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, John J. Zary; her loving children, Laureen (Craig) Strohl of Aurora, IL and Michael (Amanda) Zary of Plainfield, IL; her cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Tanner and Trevor Strohl, Emily and Olivia Zary and great-granddaughter, Eloise Strohl.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Winifred Hyte, and her siblings, Barbara (the late Lewis) Schwab and Paul Hyte.

Linda was a devoted homemaker who found her greatest joy in caring for her family. She also worked for several years as a teller at First Midwest Bank in Plainfield, where she was known for her kindness and warm smile. Linda had a natural talent for creating beautiful ceramics, and she cherished the quiet moments she spent reading and exploring new stories.

For those who would like to leave a lasting tribute to Linda’s life, memorial donations may be directed to Parkinsons Foundation or American Heart Association or World Wildlife Fund.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 9:30-10:30 AM at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, corner of Routes 30 & 59, Plainfield. Funeral Services will begin at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. A private interment will be at Plainfield Township Cemetery.
