Motorcyclist Killed In 'Major Traffic Incident' In Plainfield: Police
A Harley Davidson motorcycle and a Chevrolet Malibu crashed Friday morning, leading to a man's death, officials said.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A motorcyclist died Friday morning after a car failed to yield the right of way, Plainfield police said.
The “major traffic incident,” as officials described the crash in the original alert, occurred at 6:05 a.m. at the intersection of 119th Street and Route 30.
The preliminary investigation indicates a 2025 Harley Davidson motorcycle was northbound on Route 30 when a black 2023 Chevrolet Malibu, headed south on Route 30, attempted to turn left onto 119th Street but failed to yield the right of way, police said in a news release Friday afternoon.

The motorcycle driver was taken to Rush Copley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Officials did not release the man’s identity, pending next-of-kin notification.
The Chevrolet driver remained on the scene following the crash and is cooperating with the investigation. No citations or charges have been issued at this time, police said.

Investigators did not report any additional injuries.
The Plainfield Police Department posted an alert at 8:10 a.m. informing the community of the incident. The intersection was temporarily closed while Plainfield police and members of the Illinois State Police reconstructed the scene.
