New Restaurant Replacing Former Tap House Grill Space Unveiled
The new business comes from the same group that operates Khaos Brewcade, Chop'd and Craft'd in Plainfield.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The new restaurant replacing the former Tap House Grill space on Lockport Street was unveiled Friday.
Fuse'd is expected to open in mid-April at 24402 W. Lockport St., across from Village Hall. Mayor John Argoudelis announced the new eatery Friday morning on Facebook, more than two months since Tap House Grill suddenly closed.
Fusion is the latest concept from the Major Threat Restaurant Group, which also operates Khaos Brewcade, Craft'd and Chop'd in Plainfield.

Corey Knowles, the founder of Fuse'd, described the restaurant as guest-forward, approachable and fun.
"We believe that food is a universal language that has the power to bring people together," Knowles said in a statement. "Our goal is to create a space where the local community can gather and enjoy dishes inspired by cultures from every corner of the globe, all made with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients."

The menu at Fuse'd will feature an "eclectic mix of dishes that blend traditional techniques with contemporary flavors" with plates including Mexican barbacoa molcajete, Peruvian ceviche and Chicago's tavern-style pizza.
"I'm excited about this whole thing," Argoudelis told Patch. "Here's the thing that's great about all of this: people got a little freaky because we had some restaurants closing ... but they were all for very unique reasons. None of them were because Plainfield couldn't support restaurants — we can. We've gotten such great replacements. ... We're ending up with even greater additions to our restaurants than we had before."
Tap House Grill was one of several Plainfield restaurants that shuttered their doors, prompting worry from residents. Less than a week after, Opera House Steak & Seafood and Irish Tyme Pub, both located in the historic circa 1899 Opera House Block Building, announced their closures. A month later, Big Sammy's said it sold its Lockport Street location to focus on their flagship restaurant on Route 30, Patch reported.
