Opening Date Set For Plainfield Portillo's
The Plainfield outpost, the fourth pick-up-only location, will have double drive-thru lanes and an area inside for pickup and delivery.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The new Portillo's in Plainfield has an opening date, and it's just in time for Thanksgiving.
Portillo's will officially open its fourth pick-up-only restaurant in Illinois, at 13466 S. Route 59, on Nov. 24, the company announced Wednesday. The site was previously home to a PNC Bank.
Rather than a full-size sit-down eatery, the popular restaurant specializing in Chicago-style street food — and chocolate cake — will have double drive-thru lanes and an area inside for pickup, delivery and catering orders. Portillo's breakfast menu, first unveiled in April, will also be cooked up at the Plainfield spot.

Portillo's will celebrate its opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m. the Monday before Thanksgiving. During the event, the restaurant will present its charity partner, Bags of Hope, with a check, company officials said. Doors will officially open to diners at 10 a.m.
The Village Board voted 5-1 last December to bring Portillo's to Plainfield, righting a historic wrong, as Mayor John Argoudelis previously told Patch.
