Plainfield Police Release Number Of Tickets Issued In Labor Day Enforcement

Plainfield officers were "out in force" for nearly three weeks, encompassing Labor Day, to curb "dangerous driving behaviors."

PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Police Department's latest enforcement campaign encompassed Labor Day, and officials released Sept. 15 the number of tickets issued during the effort.

From Aug. 15 into the early morning hours of Sept. 2, officers issued a total of 22 citations, including two for child seat violations, two for speeding and one for no insurance.

Plainfield police, along with more than 200 other law enforcement agencies in Illinois, were "out in force" enforcing seat belt laws and other traffic laws to curb "dangerous driving behaviors," Patch reported.

The "Click It or Ticket" initiative was paid for by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
