More Than 'Really Decent': Plainfield's Werk Force Brewing Takes Home Medal At World Beer
The local brewery took home the award at the event, known as the "Olympics of beer."

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield's Werk Force Brewing won another honor last week, taking home a bronze at the World Beer Cup — known as the "Olympics of beer" — in Indianapolis.
Werk Force was one of seven Illinois brewers to win at the international beer competition, created in 1996 to celebrate the art and science of brewing. With over 100 categories, it's organized by the not-for-profit Brewers Association. This year, Werk Force brought home a bronze for Really Decent, an American light lager.
"Turns out Really Decent is actually pretty frickin’ decent," Werk Force said on social media.

Several other Illinois breweries were recognized at the World Beer Cup. Naperville's Go Brewing earned two medals for its nonalcoholic craft beer, snagging a silver for Disarm in the Hoppy Non-Alcohol Beer category and a bronze for New School in the Specialty Non-Alcohol Beer category.
