PLAINFIELD, IL — A victim is pursuing criminal charges against a Plainfield teenager accused of battering her Sept. 21, police said.

Plainfield police were dispatched at 1:49 a.m. to a residence on West Sleepy Hollow Lane, where the victim recounted that during a verbal argument, Zack T. Plant grabbed her wrists and prevented her from leaving the residence. As officers were talking with the 19-year-old man, who "exhibited several signs of intoxication," he threw a pair of shoes at the woman, hitting her leg, Cmdr. Anthony Novak told Patch.

Plant was placed under arrest for domestic battery, but the victim told police she did not wish to pursue criminal charges and would relocate for the evening. As a result, the man was released.

About an hour later, Plant dialed 911 to "complain about how the officers handled the call for service," Novak said, explaining that the call was not an emergency or proper use of 911. Police returned to Plant's residence and placed him under arrest on charges of disorderly conduct and underage consumption of alcohol.

While officers were processing Plant at police headquarters, the victim called to share more information about what transpired before their arrival. She explained how Plant pushed her down several times and physically blocked her ability to leave and advised police that she changed her mind about pursuing criminal charges, according to Novak.

Plant's next court date is scheduled for Oct. 9.
