The Timbers Celebrates 22 Years With Loyal Staff: 22 Employees Honored

Study shows that staff longevity in senior care is important. 22 staff members have been employed at the Timbers for seven years or more.

The Timbers of Shorewood is celebrating its 22nd anniversary this year by honoring staff members who have shown dedication through years of service. Twenty-two staff members have been employed at the Timbers for seven years or more.

Turnover is rare at The Timbers of Shorewood. Consider:

  • 10 employees have been with The Timbers for 15 or more years
  • 19 employees - 10 or more years
  • 22 employees - 7 or more years

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median number of years that wage and salary workers had been with their current employer was 3.9 years.

Staffing and longevity in senior care communities is especially important. Research from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has found a direct correlation between staffing levels and quality outcomes:

From the CMS report: “As staffing levels increase, so does the quality of outcomes and vice versa. When turnover is high, communities are frequently short staffed, leaving other team members to pick up additional duties to meet care needs. Over time, this can lead to burnout, compromised performance, and possibly missing important changes in resident acuity levels. Turnover also impacts continuity of care as new caregivers must get acquainted with the needs of each resident.”
