Bee Brothers Restaurant Receives $500 Anonymous Donation

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Bee Brothers Restaurant at 472 N. Weber Road announced on its Facebook page today that it has received a $500 tip from an anonymous patron. Bee Brothers Owner Andrew Theodorou said that the donor was actually a regular customer, but that she had insisted on staying out of the spotlight.

"She really just plead with me to stay anonymous on this whole thing," Theodorou said.

Theodorou added that the $500 would be used to help supplement the income of the restaurant's staff, who like most service industry professionals are being hit hard by the mandated coronavirus restaurant closures.

"We took that check and we just divided it up by our servers, and they got cash in hand on the spot," Theodorou said.

In addition to this small windfall for Bee Brothers' staff, the restaurant will be offering free soup to all customers tonight, March 17, between 6 and 8 p.m., to 'pay it forward.'

Theodorou also said that he would try to make the restaurant's surplus supplies available to elderly people in the area.

"At any time during this whole crisis, elderly in the area that can't afford or have the time or the means to get out shopping... we have a lot of supplies, a lot of perishables here, a lot of food," he said. "If they give us a call on the phone, we'll take care of the rest, anonymously, no questions asked."
