Car Rolls Into Romeoville Pond: Police

A car was recovered from a Romeoville pond Friday morning.

No one was injured Friday morning after a car rolled into a Romeoville pond, according to police. 

Police responded around 9 a.m. to the pond near Target, 349 S. Weber Rd.

No one was in the car when it rolled into the water, according to Romeoville Assistant Police Chief Steve Lucchesi. The driver had parked the car, which was a stick shift, thinking he had activated the parking brake. He had not, and the car rolled forward and into the water.

A diver was in the water to assist a tow truck recover the car.
