Closures Expected At Romeoville Forest Preserves This Week

As part of the Forest Preserve's annual maintenance plan, select preserves will be closed the week of Aug. 4.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Two forest preserves in Romeoville will have closures this week for paving work, according to the Forest Preserve District of Will County.

As part of the Forest Preserve's annual maintenance plan, select preserves will be closed the week of Aug. 4. The preserves are expected to reopen the day after the paving work is completed. Closure dates and the preserves affected are:

  • Aug. 4: Plum Valley Preserve in Crete Township and Veterans Woods (both access areas) in Romeoville
  • Aug. 5: Veterans Woods (continued) and Centennial Trail – Schneider's Passage in Romeoville
  • Aug. 6: Old Plank Road Trail – Park Road and Washington Street access areas in Joliet and Joliet Iron Works Historic Site
  • Aug. 7: Lake Renwick Preserve (all access areas) in Plainfield
  • Aug. 8: Lake Chaminwood Preserve and McKinley Woods – Frederick's Grove Access, both in Channahon.

Weather and other factors could affect these closures, the preserve said.
