Family Speaks Out After Woman Linked To Romeoville Quadruple Slaying
Palomo's family has now released a statement through their attorney, sending their "extreme condolences" to the victims' families.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — Last week, Romeoville Police revealed that "person of interest" Ermalinda Palomo had prior knowledge of the intent to murder a Romeoville family, was involved in the planning and drove suspect Nathaniel Huey Jr. to the family's home on the night of the murders.
Palomo's family has now released a statement through their attorney, sending their "extreme condolences" to the victims' families and loved ones. The family is represented by JohnPaul Ivec, of Ivec Law in Plainfield.
Alberto Rolon, 38; Zoraida Bartolomei, 32, and their two sons Adriel and Diego, ages 10 and 7, were shot and killed in their Romeoville home in September. Three family dogs were also shot to death, police said.

Huey was identified as a suspect, and Palomo as a person of interest, in the days after the killings. They were located in Catoosa, Oklahoma, after a digital license plate reader got an alert for the suspect vehicle.
Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the driver sped away, and a pursuit began. Oklahoma Police said the car continued on Interstate 44 in Catoosa, and the driver struck a concrete barrier and came to a stop.

Officers then heard two noises, believed to be gunshots, and found a woman with a gunshot wound, who was taken to a hospital in critical condition. A man in the driver's seat, now identified as Huey, was found dead with a gunshot wound. Palomo died a day later at the hospital.
Police also revealed that Bartolomei and the suspect, Huey, had a relationship. This relationship was known both to Bartolomei's husband, Rolon, and Huey's girlfriend, Palomo, police said.
"Digital evidence shows the path of the vehicle used to commit the crime traveling from Huey and Palomo’s home in Streamwood to the 500 block of Concord in Romeoville and back to Streamwood at the time the murders took place," police said in an update last week.
Huey exited and reentered the vehicle from the passenger side, and Palomo was the driver, according to police.
In a statement, Palomo's family said they "had no previous knowledge of the information being disclosed and will continue to work with law enforcement to find the answers to help solve and close the investigation." It continues, "Their prayers are with everyone, especially going into the holiday season."
Through their attorney, the family previously said they believed Palomo had nothing to do with the killings.
Police said there is no evidence of additional suspects in the killings. Officials said there is additional forensic evidence pending analysis, and further information will be released when the investigation is complete.
