Romeoville Citizens Police Academy Begins March 12

The first class is scheduled for March 12, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and applications are due by March 1.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A free 12-week police academy program will allow participants to get to know members of the Romeoville Police Department and gain a better understanding of law enforcement practices, officials say. The first class is scheduled for March 12, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and classes will continue each Tuesday for 12 weeks.

Officials say topics will include gangs, criminal and traffic law, traffic stops, firearm safety, K-9 units and more. Participants must be at least 18 years old and priority will be given to Romeoville residents, officials say.

To pick up or drop off an application, visit the Romeoville Police Department at 1050 W. Romeo Road. You can also print out a PDF and mail it in. Applications are due by March 1.
