Romeoville To Hold 'Winter Wonderland' Festival, Friday, Dec. 6

The Village of Romeoville invites residents to a holiday festival and food drive on Friday at the Edward Hospital Athletic & Event Center

ROMEOVILLE, IL — On Friday, Dec. 6, the Romeoville Fire Department and Firefighters Local 4237 will bring Santa to town in style at the 'Winter Wonderland' festival. Kicking off the festivities is the tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. outside of the Edward Hospital Athletic & Events Center on 55 Phelps Ave. Hot chocolate and cookies will be provided as Santa arrives around 5:30 p.m., and during the tree lighting ceremony while supplies last. A light dinner will be provided for the first 500 attendees. The first 400 children to arrive will also be able to get their photos taken with Santa. The festivities continue through 9 p.m., and include everything from face painting to mini golf to arts and crafts stations.

In addition to Winter Wonderland fun, the 'Hope for the Holidays' food drive will be accepting donations at the event from 6 - 9 p.m. 'Hope for the Holidays' has been helping the Romeoville community for 10 years by supplying over 1,000 meals and over 5 tons of food to local pantries. Due to the dedication of the community in conjunction with the team over at Fat Ricky’s, even the smallest of donations can make a big difference. In continuing the tradition, please remember to bring any non-expired and non-perishable food items to the Winter Wonderland.
