Romeoville Man Charged With Sexual Assault Of A Child

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A Romeoville man has been charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim younger than 13 after a report to Romeoville Police on Monday, police told Patch.

Romeoville officers responded to a residence at 1:10 a.m. Monday for a report of a sexual assault.

"Officers on scene conducted an investigation and probable cause was developed," police told Patch.

Hector Cruz, 48, of Romeoville, was taken into custody and charged.

"Romeoville officers accompanied Hector to the hospital where he was treated for injuries sustained prior to our arrival," police said. Cruz was treated and released from the hospital, and taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

Cruz had an initial court date on Tuesday, and remains in custody at Will County Adult Detention Facility. His next court date is Feb. 18.
