Romeoville Veterans Day Program Announced

The annual event takes place at the Edward "Doc" McCartan Veteran's Memorial.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Village of Romeoville will once again present its annual Veterans Day service at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at the Edward “Doc” McCartan Veteran’s Memorial, 11 Montrose Drive.

The event program is as follows:

  • American Set - Glen Bogle Pipe Band
  • Welcome - Mayor John Noak
  • Posting of the colors: Romeoville High School Marine Corps Jr. ROTC
  • National Anthem - Romeoville High School Band
  • March off of colors - Romeoville High School Marine Corps Jr. ROTC
  • Opening prayer - Chaplain Virgil Oikion, American Legion Department of Illinois
  • Amazing Grace - Glen Bogle Pipe Band
  • Speaker - Jacob Reed, Lewis University assistant professor
  • Presentation of wreaths - American Legion Womens Auxiliary Unit 52, American Legion Post 52, Citizens Police Academy Alumni of Romeoville, Grand Haven Veterans Club, Hampton Park Social Athletic Club, Romeoville Area Historical Society, Romeoville Veterans Commission, Village of Romeoville
  • Moment of silence observance of all past, present and fallen men and women who have fought or are fighting for our country
  • Taps - Romeoville High School Band
  • Closing prayer - Chaplain Virgil Oikion, American Legion Department of Illinois
  • Closing comments - Mayor John Noak
  • Three Tune Mark - Glen Bogle Pipe Band
