Romeoville Woman Dies In I-55 Crash
Michelle McCombs sustained multiple injuries in an I-55 crash that occurred over the weekend, according to the Will County Coroner's Office.
ROMEOVILLE, IL—A Romeoville woman, who was involved in an I-55 crash over the weekend, was pronounced dead, the Will County Coroner’s Office reports. Michelle McCombs, 58, died at 6:16 p.m. May 4 in the AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center emergency room.
McCcombs was driving northbound on I-55 near mile post No. 252, one-quarter mile north of Route 59, officials said. McCombs was struck from behind by another vehicle, which was driven by a minor.
The Illinois State Police District 5 is handling the incident.

Officials said the minor sustained non-life threatening injuries and was later sent to an area hospital for treatment.
McCombs sustained multiple injuries in the crash, according to the Will County Coroner’s Office. The final cause and manner of death will be determined after a review of the autopsy and toxicological reports.
