Students Become Teachers In Romeoville HS Computer Science Course
Advanced Computer Science students at Romeoville High taught coding to their peers as part of the 'Hour of Code' program

“Hour of Code” is a global initiative to introduce computer science to students and demystify creating computer code.
Romeoville HS participated in Hour of Code by sending AP Computer Science students into math classrooms to recruit for AP Computer Science and to lead students through a basic coding exercise.

We visited the math class of Mrs. Anna Teper-Dillard where AP Comp Science students Ethan Justice and Garrett Shahan had the experience of moving to the front of the classroom to deliver a lesson. Watch the video to see Ethan and Garrett experiencing the role of teacher, and afterwards, explain the differences between being in front of the classroom as a teacher, as opposed to being in the classroom as a student.
