Where To Find Cooling Centers In Romeoville: Extreme Heat Watch Issued
An extreme heat watch has been issued for Romeoville, which will be in effect starting Wednesday morning.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — Dangerously hot conditions are coming to the Chicago area on Wednesday and Thursday, including in Romeoville.
An extreme heat watch has been issued for Romeoville, which will be in effect starting Wednesday morning, running through Thursday evening. The weather service said that heat index values of 105 to 115 are possible.
"Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events," the weather service said.

If you need somewhere to stay cool, the Village of Romeoville offers a cooling center at the Recreation Center, 900 W. Romeo Road. The facility is open as a cooling center from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Waste Management will also do earlier pick-up on Wednesday and Thursday. Romeoville customers should have items for collection out and ready by 5 a.m. on these days for your regularly scheduled waste and recycling pickup.
