Gas Leak In Shorewood, Route 59 Reopens To Traffic
Shorewood police made the announcement Wednesday morning.

SHOREWOOD, IL — Around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Shorewood Police Department issued the following announcement on its Facebook page: "Please avoid the intersection of IL Rt 59 and Jefferson St (Rt 52). Crews are working on repair of a large gas leak."
By noon, the gas leak had been fixed, and traffic was reopened, according to Shorewood Deputy Police Chief Jason Barten. There were no injuries, he said.
