Missed Court Date For Racist Threat Case Lands Joliet Sex Offender Back in Jail, Cops Say
The sex offender used a racial slur when he threatened a man, police said.

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet sex offender charged with making a vile, racist threat was jailed Tuesday night for skipping a court date.
Nicholas Snyder, 27, was first arrested for the alleged threat in May and then released on his own recognizance.
Snyder told a 26-year-old man, “My dog will bite your f---ing face off, n-----,” according to a criminal complaint filed in Will County court.

Snyder did this May 7 either at or outside the other man’s North Bluff Street home, the complaint said.
Snyder is a registered sex offender. He was convicted of criminal sexual abuse nine years ago in LaSalle County, according to the Illinois State Police registry. His victim we between 13 and 17 years old.

Snyder missed a July court date for his racist threat case, according to court records. A warrant carrying a $2,500 bond was then issued for his arrest.
Snyder remains in custody at the Will County jail.
