SHOREWOOD, IL — The motorcyclist killed in a crash Wednesday with a school bus has been identified as a 50-year-old Shorewood man, the Will County Coroner's Office said Thursday.

The coroner's office said the man, Jeffrey M. Santora, was pronounced dead at the scene in the 24000 block of West Shepley Road in Troy Township.

The Will County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash, which happened around 2:50 p.m.

On Wednesday, Will County Deputy Chief Dan Jungles told Patch that Santora died at the scene and a woman who was a passenger on the motorcycle was seriously injured and taken to an area hospital.

Jungles said it was his understanding the school bus was dropping off a child when the motorcycle struck it. The school bus was stopped at the time the motorcycle crashed into it, Will County sheriff's officials later said.
