Suicidal Man Set Crest Hill Home on Fire: Cops

The wanted man suffered burns to his face and was charged with arson.

A suicidal man torched his own home in a bid to kill himself and is now wanted on an arson charge.

Peter Parrish, 46, allegedly set fire to the Aster Drive residence where he was living in December 2014. He was charged last week with aggravated arson and arson.

A firefighter fell through the floor of the house while battling the blaze and suffered minor injuries, police said. Parrish was also reportedly injured, sustaining burns to his face.

Parrish’s wife had kicked him out of their home and he moved in with a friend who was living at the house on Aster, police said.

Parrish allegedly confessed to intentionally setting the house on fire and explained he did so in hopes of killing himself.

Parrish’s whereabouts are unknown. The warrant for his arrest lists an address in Geneva.
The warrant carries a $100,000 bond.
