100+ Cited During DUI Patrols In Skokie

Skokie police cited more than 100 people in July during various traffic safety campaigns.

SKOKIE, IL — The Skokie Police Department announced it issued 120 citations in July during its Distracted Driving Awareness Month enforcement campaign.

During the time period, police arrested four people and issued 22 seat belt citations.

  • 14 distracted driving citations
  • 43 speeding citations
  • 37 other citations

"Law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in this statewide effort to get drunk, high and drugged drivers off our roads and encourage seat belt use," Skokie police said in a statement.
