Skokie's downtown streetscaping and infrastructure construction project continues. Here's what will be happening this week:
- Paving/restoration of sidewalk and driveways
- Continued installation of curb, gutters and sidewalk on the north side
- Continued sod restoration
- Continued curb modifications to Village Hall parking lot
- Continued installation of the underground conduits and foundations for the upgraded street lighting
- Continued installation of brick pavers between the curb and sidewalk
- Installation of retaining wall in front of Village Hall
- Begin patching deteriorating sections of roadway in preparation for paving
- Complete roadway surface milling in preparation for repaving
- Backfill new medians and install water service for landscape irrigation systems
- This phase of the project is expected to be complete by June 15, 2013; the entire project is anticipated to conclude in November 2013
