Cyclist Struck By Car, Critically Injured On Gross Point Road In Skokie, Police Say
Skokie police said the driver remained at the scene of the crash.

SKOKIE, IL — Police said a motorist remained at the scene after striking a cyclist Wednesday in Skokie, sending him to the hospital.
Shortly after 7 p.m., police and fire personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Skokie Boulevard and Gross Point Road for a report that a car had struck a bicycle.
Police determined the driver had been headed northeast on Gross Point Road through the intersection when their car collided with a 27-year-old man riding a bicycle south on Gross Point Road on the east side of the intersection.

The cyclist was taken to an area hospital for treatment for their injuries, police said. Their condition was reportedly critical but stable.
The major crash assistance team of the suburban North Regional Major Crimes Task Force assisted Skokie police with the investigation, according to police. Anyone with information about the incident was encouraged to call Skokie police.
