Here Are The Skokie Residents Set To Run In 2023 Chicago Marathon

SKOKIE, IL — The weather forecast is favorable for fast finishes Sunday morning at the Chicago Marathon, as 63 Skokie residents are scheduled to join the more than 47,000 runners in the 45th edition of the prestigious event.

Last year's marathon brought nearly 43,000 participants into the Chicago area, with one in three coming from abroad, marking the first time that the marathon exceeded pre-pandemic levels, according to race organizers.

Organizers said 1.7 million spectators came out to cheer along the 26.2 mile race route. And people running for charity in the 2022 Bank of America Chicago Marathon raised $27.6 million for 180 different causes.

The elite division starts running at 7:30 a.m. from the intersection of Columbus Drive and Monroe Street. The course weaves through 29 Chicago neighborhoods, heading as far north as Sheridan Road, as far west as Damen Avenue and as far south as 35th Street. (See full course map.)
